About Us

I cannot use “Cool Head Warm Heart” to describe myself. At least not yet. Cool head warm heart is what I want to be.

This is the most difficult page to write as it deals with “who am I?”, the question that bothered many philosophers since the dawn of the selfawareness of human being.

It will not be difficult if I use the conventional way to write. Coolheadwarmheart.com is a blog on topics that I care about. I record the principles to deal with issues, people and environment around us. I write things and events that I do not want to forget.

I love history. I started reading and listenting to history stories since I started reading Chinese characters at 7. Those years in Malaysia, history lesson started at Standard 3 (or may be 4) which is 9 or 10 years old. But my mom bought children magazine with many Chinese histories. So I started early. ;-) Older, when the school was teaching how Hang Tuah lead an army of 1,000 soldiers (should I call this army?) hitting the Siam’s army at Straight of Malacca, at home I was reading Yue Fei’s (General of Song dynasty) army of 300,000 soldiers battling at Nu Tou Mountain against Jin (barbarians, then).

I believe “to live” and “to live well” is the ultimate criteria for all mainkind decision. So, for instance for the case of Tibet, I won’t advice anyone to sacrifice peace and prosperity for independance. Peace, prosperity, live the way we want is the ultimate criteria of decision. Nothing else is more important. (Freedom? you ask. I want freedom too. But in the case of between freedom of speech and good life, I choose good life first then slowing to work for freedom of speech).

I sheded my fair share of tears in June 1989 and November 1989. But I regreted when I see how Bosnians lives were destroyed, when I see ex KGB head controlling Russian, when I read how a generation of Eastern European lost their social benefits, when my Master degree research led me to realise the 10-year economy devastation in Eastern Europe, etc. I am now anti-revolution but pro-evolution. I believe we don’t have to sacrifice today for tomorrow. I believe we can live today well and have better tomorrow. Berlin Wall fell too quickly, oh yes, it should have been slower. China progress model is a better model of change. Take care of stomach first, then have money and good life, then only about freedom. (Not a Russia’s 100-day economy reformation out of ill-intend Western economists and Yetsin’s ignorance.)

This blog probably will satisfy myself more than satisfying anyone else. Oh yes, it is a monologue. It is for my ears and mind. If you enjoy it, just come along.
